“The Emmy Factor” How does a person lose weight, eliminate fat, create muscle tone, develop strength and increase endurance? Certainly diet and exercise are key factors. But if you are like me, you have cut calories, counted calories, collected exercise tapes and DVD’s, and have attended more meetings than you care to admit where people share their weight loss woes while getting encouragement from a group facilitator. And if you are like me, you have met with only temporary success.
So why, after multiple attempts to make “fit” not “thin” my focus have I found success? I call it the “Emmy Factor.” Working with Emmy Singer as my trainer has brought tangible and significant results for me. In four months, I have not only lost weight, but I have seen my body change as I shed fat and build muscle. More importantly, I have found a motivation and commitment to maintaining my health that I did not have before.
Let me explain how the “Emmy Factor” works. First, Emmy has such an incredibly positive attitude that it rubs off on anyone with whom she works. She does not merely encourage me, but she pushes me to challenge myself and make the extra effort to reach my goals. Her “can do” attitude inspires me, and she models in her own life what she expects of me. Second, Emmy looks at all aspect of fitness, not just weight loss. She understands the role of nutrition as well as exercise in maintaining a healthy body. She helps me understand my own body, what it needs, and how I can keep it running at peak efficiency. Third, Emmy is patient and sensible. She helps me keep my goals in perspective so I continue to make healthy choices.
And finally, she’s fun. Workouts with Emmy are filled with laughter and camaraderie. The thirty minutes fly by, and though I honestly can’t say, “I wish the workout wouldn’t end,” I can say that as I haul my tired and sweaty body home, I know that if I get discouraged or want to give up on myself, I have the “Emmy Factor” in my corner to keep me going.

I have worked with other trainers, tried popular approaches to diet, and thought that “this time” would make the difference. Well, I have found “what makes the difference,” and it‘s Emmy Lou Singer,, “the Emmy Factor.”
